Well I think it’s about six weeks since I’ve updated
things, which is pathetic on my end. Well I went to visit my Aunt Carolyn and
Uncle Martin outside of Bristol in a small town called Nailsworth. It’s cute,
if you thought harbor was small this place is even smaller. It’s super cute,
there are like ten stores but it’s adorable! So on the weekend of November 21-24 is when I went to see them, so almost 2 months ago... sorry everyone!
Leaving Lyon was an adventure of it’s own. I had to leave
the flat around 10 am and there was maybe an eighth of an inch of snow on the
ground. I’m not kidding when I say Aude tried to send Hippolyte to school in
snowpants. I was like umm no, it’s going to melt
I think the most important part of the trip was the fact
that my layover in the Paris airport, there was a guy wearing a Red Wings t
shirt. I was in shock so I obviously took a picture of him. I walked up to and
asked if he was from Detroit, he said in a thick English accent “No love, we
had a layover there. And I spilled my drink and needed a new shirt.” I ended up
sitting next to him on the plane. That part was a little awkward. However we took a selfie on Snapchat and I failed to save it so overall it was a waste of a selfie.
In the UK I was reunited with Jif peanut butter. And yes I finished the jar in about 10 days. You try not having peanut butter for 3 months and then you'll know how I feel. In my defense it was a small jar.
When I was picked up at the airport by my Aunt and cousins we may have gotten a little lost on our way home, but we stopped at this restaurant and I was so happy they waiter spoke English! I didn't have to be awkward with my failure at pronouncing any word in French! It was such a relief.
My first full day there, I got to explore the adorable little town of Nailsworth, such a cute little town!!! My favorite part was that there was a phone box so I obviously made my cousins take a picture of me in it at like 15 different angles, they wanted to kill me.
We went to the place called "Paint a Pot" which you do exactly that... you paint a pot or something like that. It was fun! Umm the next day we went to a town that was really cute! I don't remember the name I want to say it was something like sirensester? I don't think it's spelled correctly if that's the correct name for the town anyway, but it was really cool. A lot of cool stores and stuff.
We finished up the trip by going to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. It is SO FREAKING COOL. I first saw this picture in an article about the hidden gems of europe of something, but it instantly caught my attention.
